Although the farm is set in a secluded situation, it is only ten minutes from the town of Thury Harcourt, Normandy, where all essential shopping can be carried out and which also comprises a superstore, church, cinema, hotel and restaurants.

The farm is the same distance from the pretty village of Clécy, Normandy, set within the Orne Valley. Here is where the outdoor enthusiast can ride, canoe, fish, hang-glide or rock climb in spectacular scenery.

Being close to the north coast of France, Bayeaux and the Normandy landing beaches are all within one hour's drive and to the south east is the town of Falaise with its castle, the birth place of William the Conqueror.

The site formerly comprised a monastery built in 1125; indeed some of the out-buildings still remain and evidence of others can be seen. Thomas à Beckett is reputed to have studied at the monastery in his early days and the magnificent altar can still be seen in the church at nearby Pierrefitte en Cinglais.

There is a wealth of beams in both of these Normandy holiday homes and there is a circular granite staircase in the main farmhouse. Whichever property you choose, we feel that you will experience an extremely relaxing and pleasant Normandy holiday, perhaps eating out occasionally at one of the many French restaurants and hotels in the area.

There is no need to bring your own bed linen or towels as these are provided together with pillows and duvets. The kitchens are well stocked with cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils and there is a washing machine in each property. Electric central heating is also available by special request.
